When  Gujarat  was  struggling  for  a  foothold  in  the  industrial  arena of  India,  a  strong  and  urgent  need  for  uniform, all-round  peaceful,  stable  and  sustained  development  of  industries  of  Gujarat  was  foreseen as utmost  priority  by  the  dedicated  and  committed  industrialists  of  Gujarat during the year of eighties.  Having  whole  hearted  commitment  to  economic,  technological  and  productive  advancement  of  industries  and  the overall progress of people  of  Gujarat  at their  hearts,  they  united themselves to  take-up the  challenge.

To voice their feelings for this noble cause, likeminded and visionary industrialists gathered to work out strategic action plan and to give a shape to their vision and decided to bring all of them together under one umbrella.

In order to achieve this goal they formed   FEDERATION  OF  INDUSTRIES  & ASSOCIATIONS (GUJARAT) having its office at 607/608, Harekrishna Complex, Opp. Kothawala  flats, Pritamnagar, Ellisbridge, Ahmedabad–380 006. With a view to give a legal entity they got it registered under the Registration of Public Trust Act and the Registration of Societies Act.

Federation of Industries & Associations is enjoying the privilege of being the Apex Representative Body of all GIDC Industries Associations and other Associated Industry  Members. Today it is enjoying the strength of more than Indirect 1, 25000 members across Gujarat state. The Federation, right from its inception is well respected and recognized as a true representative of Industries in Gujarat. It is prominently known and addressed as FIA among Government Authorities and Industrial Community. FIA’s members are also nominated in various committees and advisory bodies formed by the State and the Union Governments in the state of Gujarat.

Benefits to Members.

  1. FIA being an Apex Representative Body of Industries in Gujarat, it is playing important role during decision making processes at Government level. Thus the members’ views are being well considered during decision/policy making through FIA
  2. Members’ serious grievances / disputes are effectively represented at top level authorities of GIDC/State Government/Union Government or local bodies through FIA and get resolved amicably through negotiations across the table.
  3. FIA publishes a bimonthly news bulletin namely “FIA TIMES” since 1995. This  bulletin  gives the report about FIA’s activities, Member Associations’ activities etc in addition to the  latest  information  on  government  policies,  projects  and  planning  on  important  issues  concerning  industrial development activities and  financial  matters in addition to a large variety  of  other  topics  such as  management,  health, amendments in  various  industrial  policies, market trends etc FIA Times is circulated among all member Associations free of cost for the benefit of members.
  4. In order to achieve on the spot, speedy and satisfactory solutions of all field level problems of Member Associations open house Zone Wise meetings are arranged at an interval of every three months which is attended by all senior officers of GIDC and Office Bearers of respective Associations and office bearers of FIA.
  5. State Government has realized the importance of SME Sector in achieving sustainable and inclusive growth of Gujarat. Gujarat Government has therefore, recognized FIA as a nodal agency to attract SME Sector in its entire programme such as Vibrant Gujarat, Seminars/Work Shops on SME Sectors. FIA’s members are availing benefit of show casing their products in such programme at a much discounted rates through FIA.

Some of the Eye Catching Achievements during recent past.

  1. Up gradation of existing Industrial Estates through CIP Projects under State Government Granted Schemes.
  2. Simplification of transfer policy for utilized and unutilized plots in GIDC estates.
  3. Simplification in administrative policy for availing permission under clause 2r of Lease Deed.
  4. Specially approved by State/Centre Government up to 95% grant for RIDC estate.
  5. FIA has very successfully participated as a Co. sponsorer in the Exhibition & Conference for Vibrant-2009, 2011 and 2013 organized by the state Government.
  6. FIA played pivotal role in implementing the transfer of all basic amenities/services to Associations/NAO of the respective estates.]
  7. FIA has been promoting Green Environment by adopting Green Technologies with the help of member associations in various estates.
  8. FIA has initiated in setting up of “Centre of Excellence” in all major industrial estate of Gujarat.

FIA’s Commitment for Corporate Social Responsibilities.
FIA has always been a motivating force for all its members in undertaking various projects and activities for common cause of the society under their Social Corporate Responsibilities. FIA has always been at fore front to serve the people during all natural calamities in Gujarat such as Earth Qwaque of 2001 or flood affected people in past. FIA’s services is well appreciated by Government and the beneficiaries.

FIA’s Future Plans.

  • FIA is planning to construct a state of the art Centre of Excellence in Gandhinagar Electronic Estate of Gandhinagr during the year 2013 – 2015 only at a total cost of app. Rs. 5.00 Cr.  A plot of land admeasuring 1000 Sq. Mt has been allotted and plans are already submitted to competent authorities. Construction of the building is proposed to be commenced very soon around Dipawali 2013.
  • A state level Mega Industrial Exhibition is planned to be organized at Vadodara during February 2014.

Federation Of Industries & Association (Gujarat) Is An Apex Body Of Industrial Organizations In Gujarat Formed In The Year 1983.  The Formation of This Body Was To Create A Cordial Atmosphere And Infuse Vitality Amongst Entrepreneurs When The Overall Development In Gujarat Was Stagnant And The Industrial Climate Was Not In Sustaining Condition During The1980s, Today FIA Is The Most Formidable Body Representing Associations Of Various Industries In GIDC And Leading Industrial Estates & Industries In Gujarat.    FIA Is The Catalyst Body Of More Than 3,60,000 Members Who Are Directly Or Indirectly Connected With FIA By Reposing Their Trust.

FIA Acts As A Bridge Between The Government Of Gujarat And The Industries In Gujarat.  Anyway FIA Is Proud Of Gujarat Government Pro Industrial Policies Which Have Been Instrumental In Rapid Development, High Quality Infrastructure And Booming Economy In The Benefit Of All Sections Of The Society.  The Approach Of The Government And Its Administrative Force Are The Key Strategy For Enhancing The Competitiveness As Well As Capacity Building.

The Significant Role Played By FIA Supported By Gujarat Government Has Been Crucial In The Restructuring, Renovation And Modernization Of Roughly Around 200 GIDC Estates Viz. Critical Infrastructure Projects, Transfer Policy Change Facilitating Use Of Unutilized Plots, Simplification of 2r Permission, Healthy Environment Etc. The FIA Has Been Representing Its Members For Bringing Amicable Solutions To The Problems And Disputes By Effectively Taking Up With Various Departments Of Govt. Of Gujarat As Well As GIDC.

FIA Always Extend Its Support And Cooperation To Various Programs, Exhibitions, Seminars Etc. Initiated By The Govt. Of Gujarat For Enhancing Industrial Growth.  It Also Actively Play Its Effective Role In Vibrant Gujarat 2009-11 Organized By The Govt. Of Gujarat
